Hilltop has four Two-Year-Old classrooms (for children 2-3) designed to build upon the skills gained in the toddler years and continue the nurturing, exciting, and educational opportunities for the children. Each classroom is staffed with a full-time Lead Teacher and full-time Assistant Teacher, as well as several part-time aides throughout the day. The teaching staff works hard to carry on the warmth and security established the previous year, while preparing children for the upcoming transition to Preschool.

The Two-Year-Old rooms will offer the same well-rounded curriculum described for toddlers, but with additional complexities based on their changing needs, growth, and development. They will focus even more heavily on self-help skills, including toilet training and dressing. Children will also begin to experience more involved large group curriculum and will gain more exposure to making activity choices. As the children approach Preschool, activities will begin to naturally take a more structured shape, but the emphasis will remain upon fostering inquisitiveness, expression, and fun!

To enter a Two-Year-Old room, children must be 24 months by August 31st of the school year in which they begin. Ratio is 1 adult per 7 children with a total of 14 children per room.
